I am not a poet, but during my prayer today, the Holy Spirit gave me words of my own to complete the melody of a song that kept repeating in the background of my mind after I awoke: Tapestry by Carole King. I hope these words from God bring you as much consolation and joy as they have for me! God bless!
My life has been a tapestry of sad and joyful hues
of God's eternal mission, with ever-changing views
He weaves my path with threads of gold and lavender and blue,
A path that leads me to His heart, when I don't have a clue.
Once amid deep sorry and agony and grief,
I turned to Him with questioning doubts and faltering belief.
He answered all my questions and showed me His deep love;
A light and peace entered my soul, with wisdom from above.
As sorrow turned to dancing, His joy replaced my pain.
It was a long, slow journey to joy that will remain.
Whenever there's a struggle, I seek His truth most dear
despite this life's hard trials... and sorrow.. and my fears.
I thank you God, my Father, for granting me this life,
for forming me as daughter, as mother, and as wife.
May Christ be ever near me, and always guide my way,
I pray the Holy Spirit direct me every day.
