Common Marriage & Divorce Misconceptions: Finding Clarity and Hope

Confusion about divorce and annulment in the Catholic Church often leads to unnecessary anger, guilt, or grief. Many Catholics carry painful misconceptions... believing, for example, that an annulment means they were “never really married,” or that divorce automatically bars them from receiving the sacraments.  The truth is much more compassionate. The Church, as a loving mother, desires to guide her children with clarity and mercy. These posts are written to help clear away misunderstanding and shine a light on the beauty of Christ’s teaching on marriage, forgiveness, and healing.

If you are carrying the pain of separation, divorce, or the annulment process, know that you are not alone. The Church walks with you, and Christ’s mercy is always greater than our deepest wounds.
